If you’ve been longing to upgrade your streaming experience without breaking the bank, you’re in luck: We’ve got the inside scoop on a deal that’ll let you dive into the vast libraries of ITV, BritBox and Studio Canal Presents, all while enjoying ad-free streaming on ITVX Premium.
Some publications like to call these types of discounts “Hidden Codes” – but frankly, at this point, this ITVX discount isn’t all that hidden – as it’s been available every month ever since the service launched, albeit with a slightly different code each month.
While ITVX is, first and foremost, a free streaming service (with adverts) – it also includes an optional, paid subscription tier.
ITVX Premium, which normally costs £5.99/month, removes most adverts from the streaming service, and also adds two standalone premium libraries – BritBox and Studio Canal Presents.
But thanks to this… not-so-hidden code – subscribers can lower the cost to just £3.99/month – for up to 8 or 9 months (see full instructions below).
And – it even lets you use the 7-day free trial first.
What Is ITVX Premium?
ITVX is ITV’s replacement for ITV Hub: a more robust streaming service, with a big library of TV shows and films.
The free, ad-supported version of ITVX includes catch-up content from ITV’s linear channels, as well as box-sets from ITV’s past and shows that are exclusive to ITVX.
The service launched with more than 10,000 hours of on-demand content, and has been growing since with monthly additions (here’s what’s coming to ITVX in May).
ITVX is available on most of the streaming devices in the UK (including, as of recently, Sky Q) – though it’s missing from a few older Freeview (including, for now, the Manhattan boxes) and Freesat boxes, as well as older Smart TVs.
Alongside the on-demand and catch-up content, you can also stream all of ITV’s live channels via the app, as well as several “themed” ad-supported live channels that are dedicated to a single series or theme – although ITVX’s live channels are NOT available on Freeview Play devices and some Smart TVs.
In addition to the free tier, ITVX has an optional Premium tier that removes most of the adverts and gives you access to the entire content library of BritBox, which includes more than 4,000 hours of classic British shows and films, including 600+ classic Doctor Who episodes.
In fact, as we previously reported, BritBox no longer offers standalone subscriptions to new subscribers, and instead sends people to ITVX’s Premium tier.
Last month, ITVX also added Studio Canal Presents to its premium tier, at no extra cost – it’s a European streaming service that normally costs £4.99/month on its own.
This now adds 400+ titles to ITVX Premium, with films such as Paddington 1 and 2, the new Evil Dead reboot, classics like Apocalypse Now, TV shows like Hannibal (the prequel series to The Silence of the Lambs), all eight series of popular French procedural Spiral and much more.
ITVX Premium – Discount Code
ITVX Premium normally costs £5.99/month or £59.99/year.
However, ITVX has been offering a special deal to ex-BritBox subscribers – which is where this coupon originates from. Thankfully, however, it works for anyone, regardless if you were ever a BritBox subscriber.
So, thanks to this ongoing voucher code deal, which is only available for a limited time – the cost can go down to £3.99/month.
As of this writing, the reduced price will remain in effect for up to 9 months (from the moment you subscribe) but there’s no fixed term, so you can cancel anytime.
If you cancel before the 9 months are up, however, and then decide to subscribe – you will go back to the regular, £5.99/m price point (unless there’s another voucher at that time, of course).
If you haven’t taken advantage of ITVX’s free trial offer before, you can also use that – so you’ll get 7 free days of ITVX Premium, and then get billed £3.99/month (unless you cancel before the free trial is up).
To get the discount, sign up for ITVX, then start the subscription process for ITVX Premium – and use the voucher code ITVXSAVE9.
- May 13 Update: As of this writing, the code doesn’t work anymore, unfortunately. But there’s a new half-off deal – learn about it here.
Of course, there’s always a possibility ITV will get tired of this deal and cancel any ongoing coupon codes – therefore, use it while you still can…
