Sky Slashes Stream And Glass Prices For Black Friday 2024

Black Friday is still a few weeks away, I know – but Sky is already celebrating, with major discounts on its two popular streaming devices – the Sky Stream puck, and the Sky Glass TV.

With Sky Glass, we’re seeing major discounts on the content packs that can include Netflix, Freeview, Cinema and Sports (including the new Sky Sports+) – but you’re not getting a discount on the TV itself.

With Sky Stream, Sky is bringing back its lowest price ever, along with a few additional add-on discounts.

So, for example, you can currently get Sky Glass 43″ with the Sky Ultimate pack and Netflix for just £33/month.  On top of that, you can add Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, UHD (4K) and more – with discounted prices, and a 24-month contract.

If you don’t need a new TV, you can currently get Sky Stream along with the Sky Ultimate pack – which includes Sky’s premium entertainment channels, AND Netflix’s Standard with Ads tier – for just £19/month, with a 24-month contract.

And, if you choose to combine these offers with Sky’s Broadband, then prices can go down even further – but remember, you don’t have to use Sky’s broadband for either Glass or Stream, as they work with any provider in the UK.

It’s important to mention that some of the deals are only available via special promotional links, available from certain affiliate partners and comparison sites. Luckily, we’re allowed to extend this offer to you – so see below for the full list of options.

Sky Glass And Sky Stream Explained

Sky Glass is a 4K TV set with a QLED HDR display and a built-in Dolby Atmos soundbar with six speakers, which was launched a few years ago.

Unlike Sky’s traditional UK services, Sky Glass and Stream don’t use a satellite dish – instead, they rely on broadband, and stream all the content to the TV, much like other streaming devices like the Amazon Fire TV sticks and Roku – or streaming services like Sky’s own NOW (see our Sky Glass VS NOW comparison).

Even the Freeview channels are streamed via broadband – therefore, there’s no need for an aerial (but there’s still an aerial port on the TV, as a “backup” for when you don’t have an internet connection, or if you unsubscribe from Sky. Sky Stream doesn’t have a working aerial port).

In my in-depth review of Sky Glass, I was impressed with its global search (something it does even better than most standalone streaming sticks) and some of its advanced features.

Picture and sound quality are mid-range but decent, and while it’s certainly not perfect – with some missing channels (compared to Sky Q) and missing apps, a somewhat confusing recording method, and how different it is from Sky Q (which is either a plus or a minus, depending on who you are) –  it’s still an impressive device, if a bit long in the tooth at this point.

In fact, some would say Glass is getting old – as its hardware hasn’t been updated since 2021 (though the software does get regular updates throughout the year). But if you’re looking for an all-in-one solution that includes a new TV and Sky built-in – then Glass is still a viable option.

Sky Stream (see my review) is a standalone 4K streaming box, also known as the “puck”, launched by Sky in 2022.

Once you sign up for Sky’s service, you get all of Sky’s channels, as well as third-party channels and some Freeview channels, streamed to the box via broadband.

Both Stream and Glass are available without long-term contracts – but as is often the case with Sky, the best discounts are reserved for those willing to sign 24-month contracts.

On top of the basic Sky Ultimate package (which includes TV channels like Sky Atlantic, along with several 3rd party channels and Freeview channels via broadband), for both Glass and Stream, you can also add additional content packs like Sky Cinema, Sky Sports and more.

Sky Glass Black Friday 2024 Deals

When you buy Sky Glass directly from Sky, you pay separately for the TV itself (the device), and for Sky’s channels and services.

You can choose whether to pay the whole amount for the TV upfront – or in instalments. Please remember that those instalments are a loan – you will need to be credit-checked, and your credit score can get damaged if you miss any payments.

For Black Friday 2024, Sky is offering its “lowest ever prices” on Glass again – but you’re not getting any discounts on the TV itself, just on the content packs (but this still keeps the overall price lower, depending on the bundle you pick).

Sky Glass - three sizes
Sky Glass

As of this writing, the prices for Sky Glass, if you pay it all upfront, are:

  • The 43″ Sky Glass TV is £699 upfront
  • The 55″ Sky Glass is £949 upfront
  • The 65″ Sky Glass is £1199 upfront

Sky Ultimate, the basic package that includes Sky Entertainment and Netflix Standard with Ads, normally costs £31/month on the rolling contract, and £28/month on the 24-month contract.

But this is where the Black Friday discounts come in: they lower the price of the Ultimate package, as well as of some of the other add-ons, depending on the bundle you choose.

And, as mentioned above, some of these special prices are available via the following links – and you won’t see them if you go directly to Sky’s website – as they’re only offered via affiliate and comparison sites.

So from now until December 3, 2024, you can get:

Over the course of 24 months, that’s a total saving of £216.

You can bundle this offer with any of the TV sizes – just remember, you also need to pay for the TV itself.

Along with this bundle, Sky is also discounting several additional add-ons for Black Friday 2024:

  • Sky Sports is temporarily down to £20/month (instead of £28/month) on the 24-month contract, or £22/m (instead of £30) on the rolling contract.
  • Sky Cinema is down to £8/month (instead of £13) on the 24-month contract, and £13/m (instead of £16) on the rolling contract (and you also get Paramount+ Standard at no extra cost).
  • TNT Sports (formerly known as BT Sport) is down to £26/month (instead of £30/m) – and you now also get the full Discovery+ Premium plan (which includes TNT Sports on other devices) if you sign up for TNT Sports via Sky.
  • Sky Kids is down to £4/month (instead of £7).
  • The Ultra HD (4K) and Dolby Atmos add-on is down to £4/month (instead of £6).

If you want to watch in additional rooms, you need the “Whole Home” add-on, which is now £10/month (instead of £13) – with the first Stream puck (for the second room) being free.

And lastly, if you want to be able to skip the adverts on Sky Glass (or, more accurately – fast forward them) – you’ll have to pay £5/month for the privilege – but there’s no discount on that.

Sky Stream Black Friday 2024 Offers

If you don’t need a new TV from Sky, and you’re just looking to get the standalone Sky Stream box – you can get the same discounts (as with Glass) on the content bundles – the lowest ever for Sky Stream.

It’s worth noting that we did see some of these price points before – but not for a while, so if you were thinking about joining Sky anyway – now would be a good time to jump on that bandwagon.

As with Sky Glass, you can choose to sign up for Sky, via the Stream puck, with a rolling 31-day contract that you can cancel at any time – or sign up for 24 months and pay less for some of the content packs.

It’s worth remembering that unlike Sky Glass – you don’t own the Sky Stream box at any point, and you need to return it if and when you cancel your Sky subscription.

As part of Sky’s limited-time Black Friday offers (good until December 3), subscribers who are willing to sign up for the 24-month contract, can get the Sky Stream puck, Sky Ultimate and Netflix for just £19/month, with no upfront fees.

If you’re still on the fence regarding Sky Stream, you may be better off taking the rolling 31-day contract – that’s the one I usually recommend, as it gives you more flexibility – but the price is higher.

But if you know, for sure, that you’ll be keeping Sky Stream and its subscription around for longer – then you might as well get it with the biggest discount.

The £19 offer is also available as part of a few bundles that offer further discounts:

The Sky Cinema bundle currently includes:

  • The Sky Stream box
  • Sky Ultimate (Sky’s premium TV channels and Freeview via broadband)
  • Netflix (Standard with Ads)
  • Sky Cinema (Weekly film premieres, live film channels, and 1,000 on-demand films)
  • Paramount+ (at no extra cost)
  • 2 Free Vue tickets every month

There are also broadband bundles, though as always – broadband depends on availability in your area, so it’s best to compare with other companies.

Also, keep in mind that Sky Stream works with any broadband – it doesn’t have to be from Sky.

Please remember that as with most TV and broadband providers, prices will likely go up every year, around March/April, even if you’re still under contract.

Lastly, remember that Sky Stream (and Sky Glass) are not the only options to get Sky’s content – you can also get it via Sky’s standalone streaming service, NOW.
