New Sports Channel Launches On Freesat: SportyStuff TV

SportyStuff TV, a new sports channel dedicated to greyhound racing and other unique sporting categories, has launched on Freesat this month.

The new channel is also available on Sky (Channel 437), and on Freesat SportyStuff TV is now available on Channel 250.

The channel will be the new home for “Racing Post Greyhound TV”, which has been covering live greyhound racing since 2011.

In addition to racing coverage, the channel plans to bring in new programming from sporting event rights-holders and third-party programme-makers, and become “the home for live-sports events that are not available elsewhere on TV.”

“SportyStuff TV is open for business”, said Kevan Moretti, Chairman and CEO of GTV, “and we look forward to announcing further greyhound racing coverage, new shows, and new sports programming on the new channel as developments take place in the coming months.”

The launch of SportyStuff TV spells good news for Freesat’s sports fans, who were disappointed when the FreeSports channel was removed from Freesat last year.

Freesat, a joint venture between ITV and the BBC, offers more than 200 free-to-air TV channels and radio stations, all transmitted via digital satellite. To watch Freesat, you need a dish on your roof and a Freesat receiver (see our recommended Freesat boxes here).

Since SportyStuff TV is an HD-only channel, some older Freesat boxes might not be compatible with it, and might require one of the newer Freesat boxes.

What Can I Watch On SportyStuff TV?

SportyStuff TV’s main focus is Live Greyhound Racing, which starts every evening at 18:00. In addition, the new channel brings with it Saturday morning coverage of Greyhound racing as well.
