Black Friday Streaming TV Deals: NOW, Disney+ And More

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are upon us, and among all the hardware and device deals, there are also some nice discounts on streaming services in the UK: NOW (TV) at 40% off, BritBox and Shudder for just 99p/month, 6 months of Disney+ and more.

Remember that most of these deals are only available for a limited time – some will end tomorrow, and some will remain active for a few days.

Sky’s NOW Streaming Service Black Friday Deals

NOW (Formerly NOW TV- they changed their name) is Sky’s no-contract streaming service – a cheaper TV platform that gives you flexible packages – “memberships” of content that can be watched on a variety of streaming devices.

Their plans include the Entertainment Membership for TV shows and Kids content, the Cinema Membership for movies, and the Sky Sports Membership. (See our full NOW review here).

NOW Entertainment and Cinema Membership: 40% Off

The Entertainment and Cinema memberships normally cost £9.99/month EACH. But you can currently get BOTH of them for just £11.98/month, for up to three months.

When the three months are up – if you don’t cancel – you will be billed monthly at the normal rate for both.

This deal also includes a 7-days trial of NOW Boost, which bumps you up to Full HD (1080p) quality streaming, and removes the adverts. After 7 days, Boost will cost you £5/month.

It’s also worth mentioning that some past customers have been getting an offer by e-mail with a 50% discount – but that offer may be customer-specific.

NOW Sports Membership – 25% Off

The Sky Sports membership on NOW normally costs £33.99/month – but you can currently get it for £25/month, for up to 3 months.

When the 3 months are up, the subscription will auto-renew at the normal rate, unless you cancel.

This deal also includes a NOW Boost free trial for 7 days – and then it’ll cost you £5/month if you don’t cancel.

NOW Entertainment Half Price With NOW Broadband

NOW also offers a Fibre broadband service. This one DOES come with a contract (currently for 12 months), but there’s a bonus – you can add a NOW Entertainment membership to it for 50% off – £4.99/month, for the whole 12 months period.

Prime Video Channels (BritBox, Shudder & More)

Prime Video Channels are an add-on to your Amazon Prime Video subscription. Since they’re an add-on to Prime, you must have an active Amazon Prime subscription first (or Prime Video), and then you can add the channels on top of that – But you can also get a free 30-days trial of Amazon Prime.

For Black Friday, you can get several premium Prime Video Channels at a discounted price of 99p/month, for up to three months. 

Remember that when the 3 months are up – the subscription will auto-renew at the normal rate, unless you cancel it.

BritBox UK – 99p Deal 

The UK version of BritBox (see our review), the streaming service owned by ITV and the BBC, is now available for just 99p/month, for up to three months, instead of the usual £5.99/month.

Some BritBox content highlights include the new (and old) episodes of Spitting Image600+ episodes of the classic Doctor Who, hundreds of classic British TV shows, and a few BritBox originals, such as The Beast Must Die, a five-part revenge thriller starring Jared Harris and Cush Jumbo.

  • Update: The standalone version of BritBox has now added its own Black Friday deal – £29.99 for a full year, instead of £59.99. But it’s only for NEW customers.

Shudder – 99p Deal

Shudder (See our Shudder review) offers a curated selection of classic and new horror films and TV shows, such as Hellraiser, American Psycho and Creepshow.

You can now get it, as a Prime Video Channel, for just 99p/month for up to 3 months, then it reverts back to £4.99/month.

Disney+ 6 Free Months Via O2

It can be streamed on a large variety of streaming devices, such as Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Smart TVs and more.

In the UK, Disney+ normally costs £7.99/month or £79.90/year.

There’s an ongoing deal where New O2 mobile customers, or existing customers who are upgrading their plan, can get up to 6 free months of Disney+.

And, O2 are now offering a lot of Black Friday mobile deals – so remember the Disney+ incentive when you’re checking these O2 offers.

Curiosity Stream Black Friday Deal – 40% Off

Curiosity Stream is a streaming service dedicated to documentaries and non-fiction, with shows about science, nature, technology and more.

You can watch it on the web, or via their app which is available on most major streaming devices.

It’s subscription-based, and you can pay either monthly or annually (the pricing depends on whether you want Full HD or 4K video quality).

Normally, the HD annual subscription costs $19.99/year, and their 4K tier costs $69.99/year.

For Black Friday, new subscribers can get a full year of HD for $11.99 (that’s around £9), or a full year of 4K for $41.99 (Around £31).

Remember that when the 12 months are up, the subscription will auto-renew at the regular price – unless you cancel.

Audible – 3 Months for 99p

Streaming TV is not the only entertainment out there – you can also stream audiobooks, thanks to Audible, which has one of the largest audiobooks collections in the world.

Their monthly subscription gives you book credits each month. The normal subscription costs £7.99/month, and you get one credit a month (each credit is worth one audiobook, in most cases).

With the subscription, you now also get unlimited listening to Audible Plus – which is a library of thousands of audiobooks, podcasts and Audible originals.

For Black Friday, you can get 3 months of Audible for just 99p (so 3 credits along with Audible Plus).

After the three months, the subscription will renew at the regular rate – unless you cancel.

NordVPN Black Friday Deal (For US Streaming)

If you’re planning to sign up for any American streaming services that are geo-blocked, or just want to be able to see content on Netflix’ US library – you’ll need a VPN (see our guide on how to watch American streaming services in the UK).

NordVPN has been our Editor’s Choice for several years now, and for good reason. Their Black Friday deal is going to run from now until December 1.

The biggest discount is being offered on the 2-Year Plan – £58.46 for 24 months – That’s just £2.44/month (but you pre-pay for the whole two years in advance).

Plex Pass – 25% Off

Plex is a popular media management and streaming platform (see our full Plex review), that lets you organise your locally stored media files, as well as stream them to a multitude of other devices. 

In recent years, Plex joined the content game, when it launched a free on-demand streaming service that features TV programmes, movies and documentaries.

The basic Plex software is free, but they also offer the paid “Plex Pass” subscription, which offers things like: downloading content to your mobile phone, Plexamp – a custom music app, the ability to watch and record live TV (via your computer), a skip into function, and more.

You can pay monthly for Plex Pass, and there’s also a Lifetime option, which normally costs $119.99. For Black Friday, you can get it for just $89.99 (that’s around £66).
