Best Amazon Prime Day Streaming Deals UK 2024

Yes, it’s that time of the year again – Amazon’s own private holiday – Prime Day – where we get two days of discounts, July 16-17, 2024 – with some good deals on streaming devices, premium channels and more.

As always, finding good offers can be tricky, so I’m here to help. This year, the Fire TV 4K Max is at its lowest price ever, and several premium streaming services are offering extended free trials.

Remember though, while there are good bargains to be had, it’s important to keep in mind that not every “Sale!” you see is necessarily the best price, so it’s always a good idea to check around.

And don’t forget – in order to take part in the Prime Day sales and offers, you need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber. Prime usually costs either £95/year or £8.99/month (which then comes down to £107.88/year), and you get free next-day shipping, a big library of movies and TV shows via Prime Video, and a number of other perks.

You can get a 30-days free trial for Prime – which you can use for Prime Day’s special deals, and then cancel if you don’t want it anymore.

Students can get Amazon Prime for less – and this year, Amazon has extended that discount to young people (up to 22-years-old) who are not students.

Streaming Devices Prime Day Deals

Streaming content via broadband is the cornerstone of TV cord cutting, with services such as Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon’s own Prime Video. But if you want to watch these services on your telly, you need a streamer (or a Smart TV).

And while Smart TVs are getting better and better, sometimes you don’t want to replace your TV (or perhaps your Smart TV’s streaming interface is just too slow and annoying). For those cases, a stand-alone streaming device is an excellent choice.

Amazon Fire TV Prime Day Deals

I’m a big fan of Amazon’s Fire TV streaming devices – I’ve been using the Fire TV Cube as my main device in recent years, but the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), is just as good in terms of how fast and responsive it is.

Amazon is offering tempting discounts on most of its Amazon Fire TV streaming devices. On some of the models – Amazon says these are the lowest-ever prices for those devices.

Google Chromecast Prime Day Deal

Google has two main versions of the newer Google Chromecast with Google TV, which has a remote and an on-screen operating system with apps (unlike the older Chromecast that could only be controlled from your phone).

Both versions are very similar – but the HD version only supports 1080p content, and the 4K version – which is also a bit more powerful – supports 4K / HDR content.

At the moment, only the 4K version is discounted for Prime Day – so it’s actually even cheaper than the HD version.

10 Free Premium Channels

Amazon is offering extended 30-day free trials on 10 premium Prime Video Channels.

Prime Video Channels are an add-on to an Amazon Prime Video subscription. They launched in the UK back in 2017, and the list of available channels has been growing since, and now includes some well-known properties.

As mentioned, you must have an Amazon Prime subscription first (or Prime Video), and then you can add the channels on top of that.

Once you subscribe, you can watch the channels on your desktop, your smartphone, or on your TV, via the Amazon Prime Video app, which is available on most Smart TVs and most streaming devices.

Most channels normally offer a free trial of 7 days – but for Prime Day, you can snag an extended trial of 30 free days on selected channels.

Remember that once the free trial is up, your subscription will be automatically renewed at the regular price – so don’t forget to cancel before that happens, if you don’t want to continue watching (and start paying).

Paramount+, 3 Months for the Price Of 1 on Prime Video Channels

Paramount+ is a global streaming service that offers content from CBS, Showtime and Paramount Pictures, as well as exclusive, original programmes.

It offers some popular originals and library shows, including the fantasy hit Yellowjackets, Yellowstone1923Tulsa King, most Star Trek shows and films (including Strange New Worlds), and more.

The standalone Paramount+ app is available on most major streaming devices and Smart TVs sold in the UK, and you can sign up either directly via the Paramount+ app/website, or via Amazon Prime Video Channels.

Paramount+ normally costs £6.99/month or £69.90/year in the UK, with a free 7-day trial available to everyone.

Now, for a limited time, you can get Paramount+ for just £2.31/month, for up to three months (and then it goes back up to the regular price).

Amazon Music Unlimited – 5 Free Months

As an Amazon Prime subscriber, you get access to Prime Music – a limited library of two million songs you can listen to for free. Above that, however, there’s Amazon Music Unlimited, which is Amazon’s answer to Spotify and its rivals.

With 50+ million songs, curated playlists and special prices for Prime subscribers (and Amazon Echo owners), it’s not a bad choice – but what better way to test it out for yourself, for five months – without paying anything.

Just remember that once the 5 months are up, it will renew at the regular £9.99/month (or £10.99 if you don’t have Prime), so don’t forget to cancel if you don’t want it to continue.

This year, even if you’re not a Prime member, you can get a deal – but only 3 months for free, instead of 5.

However, do note that this deal is only available if you haven’t used a similar deal in the past.

Audible – Free For 3 Months

While not a streaming TV service, Audible still offers great entertainment, with one of the largest audiobook collections in the world (We gave it a lot of praise in our Audible UK review).

Prices are the best when you join a monthly subscription, which gives you new audiobook credits each and every month, as well as access to Audible Plus, a library of thousands of books, podcasts and Audible Originals that are part of the membership at no extra cost.

For Prime Day, eligible Prime members can get three free months – so that’s three book credits and access to Plus.

Free Kindle Unlimited Books Library For 3 Months

Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited is a huge library of over 1 million books and audiobooks that you can read on any device with a Kindle app (so – Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads and Amazon’s own Kindle devices.).

Additionally, there’s a rotating selection of popular magazines to read as part of your subscription.

For Prime Day, you can now get a free, three-month trial of Kindle Unlimited (it’s £9.49/month after that, so don’t forget to cancel if you don’t plan to keep it.)
