“Pop Player”, an on-demand set of channels with content for kids aged 4-11, is joining Freeview Play this week and will be available for free on supported devices.

Pop Player combines three children’s channels into one on-demand platform: POP, Tiny Pop and POP Max.

The content includes Tiny Pop’s True and the Rainbow Kingdom and Enchantimals, which both have fun Christmas Specials showing in December, and Remy and Boo.

From POP there’s also exciting series such as Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures and Miraculous plus there’s Pokémon and Power Rangers on POP Max.

Freeview Play is a platform that combines over-the-air Freeview channels with content on-demand via the internet, giving you access to several popular UK catch-up apps.

It requires a broadband connection (along with a Freeview aerial) and a compatible Freeview Play device, such as the Manhattan T3-R or the newly released Humax Aura.

POP Player is the tenth on-demand service to launch on the Freeview Play platform, following the recent launch of STV Player on the service. The other channels/apps that are available as part of the service are BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5, UKTV Play, CBS Catchup Channels (CBS Drama, CBS Reality and CBS Justice) and Horror Bites.

The new POP Player is easy for kids to use as they can browse by genre and channel, as well as save their favourite shows.

Parents can also rest easy safe in the knowledge that anything they choose within the app will be age-appropriate.

“We could not be more excited about the launch of POP Player” said Simon Hunt, Director of Strategy and Business Development for Freeview Play. “From PJ Masks to My Little Pony it’s home to some of the best-loved kid’s content, and it is all available for free.”

POP Player is rolling out across Freeview Play devices starting today, with full coverage coming soon. Viewers can access it from the Freeview Play button on their remote, or via the Explore Freeview Play app on Channel 100.

Pop Player was already available on YouView, Freesat and the Playstation 4 console, as well as on iPhones and Android Phones, and as a linear channel on Freeview Channel 206 (603 on Freesat).
