ITV’s streaming service is back with its annual Black Friday promotion, offering ITVX Premium at £2 per month for two months – though that’s double last year’s promotional price of £1.
The offer, which runs until December 9, 2024, includes access to ITVX’s expanded Premium content library, which has grown significantly this year with the addition of Hayu Select’s reality TV offerings alongside existing BritBox and Studio Canal Presents content.
What Is ITVX?
ITVX launched in December 2022 as ITV’s comprehensive streaming platform, replacing the older ITV Hub.
The free tier offers an extensive library of on-demand content, including catch-up programming from ITV’s channels, exclusive shows, films, and live TV streaming.
The service has seen significant growth over the past two years, particularly due to streaming rights for popular ITV shows like Big Brother and Love Island, along with major sporting events.
You’ll find ITVX on most modern streaming devices and smart TVs in the UK, though some older Freeview boxes and smart TVs do not support it.
The ITVX Premium Experience
ITVX Premium takes the streaming experience up a notch by removing most adverts and unlocking several additional content libraries. It normally costs £5.99/month or £59.99/year.
The premium tier includes the entire BritBox catalogue, giving you access to thousands of hours of classic and contemporary British programming from ITV, BBC, Channel 4, and Channel 5.
You’ll also get Studio Canal Presents, a collection of over 400 films and TV shows including modern favourites like Paddington and classics like Apocalypse Now.
The newer addition of Hayu Select brings a curated collection of reality TV and “guilty pleasure” content to the service, featuring selected seasons of popular shows like The Real Housewives and Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
However, it’s worth noting that even Premium subscribers will still see adverts during live TV viewing, and some programmes (particularly American shows) will continue showing ITV promotions due to licensing agreements.
In fact, I’ll go as far as saying that if you really hate advert breaks when watching a film or TV show – then ITVX Premium isn’t for you if you’re mainly interested in the American content.
There are several breaks in each episode/film, and even though they’re short and only show ITVX promotions – they do very much cut into the viewing experience.
The ITVX Black Friday 2024 Offer
This year’s Black Friday deal offers ITVX Premium for £2 monthly for the first two months. It’s available from now until December 9, 2024.
New subscribers will also receive a 7-day free trial before their first payment, giving you extra time to explore the service.
Unlike some previous promotions, this offer is available to both new and returning subscribers – the only restriction is that you can’t have an active ITVX Premium subscription when signing up.
This means if you’ve tried Premium before but cancelled, you should be able to take advantage of this deal (but you won’t get the free 7-day trial again).
After the two-month promotional period, your subscription will automatically continue at the standard rate of £5.99 per month unless cancelled.
Is It Worth It?
At £2 per month, this offer provides a decent opportunity to test ITVX Premium’s expanded content library, especially with the addition of Hayu Select earlier this year, and with the holiday season fast approaching.
Remember to set a reminder to cancel before the price increases to £5.99 if you don’t plan to keep the subscription long-term.
For those interested in trying it out, you’ll need to sign up through ITVX’s website – technically there’s a voucher code being used (ITVXBF2), but it is applied automatically at checkout (if you’re eligible).

I was thinking I might try it until you mentioned there will still be adverts. The whole point in paying is so there won’t be ads.
The glory days, such as they were, of streaming are behind us, aren’t they? We’re going to be chased to watch ads wherever we go.
