The upcoming Season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy is coming to the UK earlier than expected, with a new UK home: Disney+.
This means that for the first time in many years, the newest episodes of the long-running medical drama will not go up on Sky and its streaming service NOW.
Past seasons of Grey’s Anatomy already moved to Disney+ a few years ago, but the most recent seasons – up until Season 18 last year – kept airing on Sky.
This year, with Season 19, Disney+ will be the exclusive home of the brand new episodes, with all previous 18 seasons also available on Disney’s streaming service (and on digital VOD stores – see our guide on how to watch Grey’s Anatomy in the UK).
Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 will premiere in the UK on October 26, 2022, with new episodes dropping weekly.
This is just 20 days after the season’s US premiere on October 6.
Later in the year, the show will go on its annual winter hiatus, at which point there will be no more new episodes in the US or the UK – until the season returns, usually around March or April.
There’s no word yet on Grey’s Anatomy’s spinoff series, Station 19: its past seasons are also available on Disney+, but we don’t know (yet) whether Season 6 will be airing on Disney+ as well – we approached Disney+ for more details.

Grey’s Anatomy is now the longest-running primetime American medical drama. It was created by Shonda Rhimes, and stars Ellen Pompeo as Dr. Meredith Grey, who works with her friends, colleagues and ever-changing romantic interests at a fictional teaching hospital in Seattle.
Picking up six months after the season 18 finale, season 19 sees five new interns join the staff at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, with Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane, Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, and Midori Francis joining the cast.
In the past, all episodes of Grey’s Anatomy were available on Sky and NOW, with past seasons available as box sets and newer episodes airing a few months after their US broadcast.
In 2019, Sky and NOW lost all episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, along with many other ABC shows, that eventually moved to Disney+ Star, the more ‘adult’ section of Disney’s streaming service.
But new seasons continued to air on Sky and NOW. With that deal now ending, Grey’s Anatomy fans will no longer have to subscribe to two streaming services.

Disney+ (see our full review) can be streamed on most streaming devices and Smart TVs in the UK. It includes content from the worlds of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star.
In the UK, Disney+ currently costs £7.99/month or £79.90/year – and you can subscribe directly via this link.
In the US, the price of Disney+ is going up soon, along with the introduction of a new ad-supported tier.
That’s set to happen in the UK as well, sometime next year, though the updated UK pricing is unknown at this point.
