Samsung TV Plus, a key player in the free streaming landscape, is making a new move in the comedy genre with the relaunch of its ‘Comedy Hub’ channel, headlined by the much-loved sitcom, Schitt’s Creek.
Now, UK fans of the Emmy Award-winning comedy can enjoy all five seasons at no cost, further solidifying Samsung TV Plus’s position in the competitive world of free, ad-supported streaming.
Schitt’s Creek, a nine-time Emmy Award-winning comedy, has been one of the most recommended shows in recent years.
The series follows the hilarious and heart-warming journey of the Rose family, portrayed by the real-life father and son duo, Eugene and Daniel Levy, as they navigate life after losing their fortune and ending up in a small, rural town.
What Is Samsung TV Plus?
For the uninitiated, Samsung TV Plus is Samsung’s free ad-supported streaming video service.
Free, ad-supported streaming services (“FAST”) such as Pluto TV and Amazon’s Freevee are becoming quite popular these days – and Samsung’s TV Plus is another such service.
TV Plus offers over 100 live TV channels and thousands of movies and exclusive shows on demand to millions of Samsung Smart TVs and Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
The service has invested in securing exclusive rights to bespoke content in each market, such as The Jamie Oliver Channel, American Idol, and America’s Got Talent in the UK, and DAZN FAST+ in Germany, for example.
Some of the content channels available on Samsung TV Plus in the UK include CNN, a Survivor (the American reality series) channel, Edge Sports, Mythbusters, The Lego Channel and more.
TV Plus is accessible on all Samsung devices, including Smart TVs (2016 and newer), and can be downloaded on Galaxy smartphones and tablets with Android 8.0 or higher.
The service requires no login, subscription, additional device, or credit card.
Accessing Samsung TV Plus is pretty straightforward: For Samsung Smart TVs, simply turn on your TV, navigate to the Samsung TV Plus app using your remote, and start watching.
You can toggle between the ‘Live’ and ‘Discover’ functions to watch live channels or on-demand episodes.
For Samsung Galaxy mobile devices, the Samsung TV Plus app is available for download from the Galaxy Store or Google Play app store.
The recently refreshed mobile app is now available to download on Samsung Galaxy devices across seven European countries (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, CH & AUT), catering to those who prefer to watch their favourite shows on the go.
Samsung TV Plus’ Renewed Comedy Hub
The Comedy Hub channel will be featuring episodes of Schitt’s Creek from July 12, every weekday between 6.30pm – 8pm and the entire first season is also available to stream on demand.
The Comedy Hub is not just home to Schitt’s Creek, but also a treasure trove of other comedic gems such as Blandings, Corner Gas, Jann, and Children Ruin Everything.
