Following in the footsteps of their other excellent Freeview boxes, Manhattan TV have finally launched their much-awaited T3-R box: A 4K Freeview Play device that also sports recording capabilities on either a 500GB or a 1TB hard drive. (For our guide on what Freeview is and how to get it, see here.)
With the recent launch of the Manhattan T3-R Freeview box, the UK-based company now has devices in all the major Freeview categories:
- A cheap entry-level Freeview box, the Manhattan T1.
- A Freeview Recorder box (without apps), the Manhattan T2-R.
- A Freeview Play box that also serves as a (limited) streaming device, with no recording capabilities – the Manhattan T3.
And now, the Manhattan T3-R, which represents the top of the line, with 85 Freeview channels (providing you have a suitable aerial and decent reception), Freeview Play apps (BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and others), 4K streaming (but you’ll only find content on the YouTube app, for now), and a 500GB/1TB hard drive for recordings, as well as the ability to record two programmes on two different channels at the same time.
In my review of the Manhattan T2-R and my review of the Manhattan T3, I praised the speed and the swift, easy-to-use user interface of the devices. Manhattan are promising an even FASTER user experience with the Manhattan T3-R, and I’m looking forward to thoroughly reviewing it soon. [Update: You can read my full review of the Manhattan T3-R here.)
The Manhattan T3-R is already available for purchase on Amazon, and will be available on several other leading retailers.
