Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third film in the popular Ant-Man series, is finally available to watch on TV via digital streaming in the UK – just two months after its release in local cinemas.
The superhero film, starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Jonathan Majors, was released digitally via all the major VOD stores in the UK on April 18, 2023.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was released in UK cinemas on February 17. Therefore, its streaming release date is 60 days after its theatrical release – which is a pretty short cinema-to-streaming window – though we’ve seen even shorter windows in recent years.
The special digital release version also includes hours of never-before-seen extras (see full details below), which will be available to stream from the same digital store you purchase the film from (however, the version with Bonus Content is not in 4K, at least for now).
At first, the film will only be available as a digital purchase – which means you buy the film digitally and then own it indefinitely.
It is available in Ultra HD (4K), with support for Dolby Atmos audio (as long as you have compatible equipment, as always).
The purchase price is £13.99 for the UHD or HD versions.
At a later date, the film will also be available as a digital rental (which is cheaper, but only lets you watch the film for 48 hours), and at some point in the future, it will also become available on Disney+ with its regular subscription.
Physical versions of the film – Bluray and DVD – will be released on May 22, 2023, and they are already available for pre-order on Amazon.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is part of Marvel’s Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), grossed over $473 million worldwide – but has seen mixed reviews. It currently has a rank of 47% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the film, Super Heroes Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp.
Together with Hope’s parents Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.
Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also features Jonathan Majors as Kang, reprising his role from the the first season of the Disney+ series Loki.
The film also stars David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
How To Watch Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania In The UK
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was made available to stream in the UK on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
You can now stream it on Amazon’s Prime Video store, Apple’s iTunes, Rakuten TV, Sky Store and other streaming video stores, by using a streaming device (or a Smart TV) to watch the film on your telly.
Just two months after the film’s theatrical release (in the UK), Quantumania’s digital release isn’t as short as we’ve grown accustomed to in recent years, with some films coming to streaming just 45 days after their release in cinemas.
Yet it’s pretty short when compared to some other popular releases from Disney – it took Avatar 2 almost four months to reach streaming, and Spider-Man: No Way Home took its time for 90 days.
And, just like the rest of Marvel’s films – Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will soon be added to Disney+, where it will be available to subscribers at no extra cost.
A final Disney+ date hasn’t been announced yet – though the film already has its own dedicated page on Disney’s streaming service.
Physical editions (DVD and Blu-ray) of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be released in the UK on May 22, 2023, along with a DVD collection of the entire Ant-Man trilogy.
