Virgin Media’s Easter Gift: Free 4K Channel For All

Virgin Media is opening up its Ultra HD channel to all TV customers at no extra cost this Easter – giving everyone access to films like Us and The Invisible Man, a full series of Cobra Kai and more – all in 4K.

It’s the third year running the company has done this, having previously offered the same perk at Christmas 2024 and Christmas 2025.

If you’ve got a compatible Virgin TV box, you can tune in from tomorrow, Saturday, March 28, through to Sunday, April 12, on channels 228 or 999.

What’s On?

The lineup covers quite a range – family films, horror, a full TV series, a nature documentary, and a rock and roll concert film. All content is ad-free, and Virgin says it will be available every evening during the period.

Films and programmes that will be available include:

Playmobil: The Movie – The 2019 live-action/animated musical comedy features Daniel Radcliffe and is based on the iconic German toy brand. A safe bet for younger viewers over the holidays.

The Invisible Man – Elisabeth Moss plays a woman who suspects her supposedly dead ex is still stalking her – by means nobody else can detect. Tense and genuinely creepy.

UsJordan Peele’s unsettling thriller stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, whose family holiday takes a terrifying turn when they’re confronted by mysterious doppelgängers dressed in red. Winston Duke and Elisabeth Moss also star.

US movie

Cobra Kai Season One – If you’ve never got around to this Netflix series, the full first season is included. It picks up 34 years after the original Karate Kid film, with a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence reopening the Cobra Kai dojo and reigniting his rivalry with a now-successful Daniel LaRusso.

Cobra Kai season 1

The Last Turtles – A documentary following the work of the Dominica Sea Turtle Conservation Organisation.

Rolling Stones: Olé Olé Olé – A Trip Across Latin America – Documents the band’s tour across South America and Mexico, culminating in their historic free concert in Cuba – the first time a rock band had performed there for free in many decades.

Which Boxes Can Access It?

The UHD channel is available on TV 360, Stream, and V6 boxes. If you’re still on an older TiVo box, you won’t be able to access it.

Don’t have a 4K TV? You can still watch on an HD set, though you won’t get the full ultra-high-definition picture quality.

A Busy Time For Virgin Media

This UHD boost comes at quite an eventful moment for Virgin TV customers. HBO Max launched yesterday as an app on Virgin TV boxes – though unlike Sky customers, Virgin subscribers will need to pay separately to access it, with plans starting from £4.99 per month.

And on April 1, Sky Atlantic arrives on Virgin Media TV for the first time, landing on Channel 111 for customers who receive Sky Entertainment channels as part of their package.

So between the UHD opening and Sky Atlantic, it’s a fairly significant stretch for Virgin Media’s content offering.

David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, said the Easter UHD opening was designed to give customers “an opportunity for many of us to spend some extra quality time together” over the long weekend and school holidays.

To find the UHD channel, head to channel 228 or 999 on your Virgin TV box.
