LG Electronics has unveiled a special “Streaming Week” campaign, offering a range of free and discounted subscriptions to various streaming services for owners of select LG televisions in the UK.
Running from September 9 to October 13, this promotion commemorates a decade since LG first introduced its webOS platform on its TV models.
The celebration includes a free Apple TV+ subscription for three months, Paramount+ at half price, DAZN discounts and more – with offers worth up to £220 (see full list below).
The offers are available to owners of LG TVs with 4K (UHD) or 8K resolution, but a major caveat is that they have to have been released from 2018 onwards (running webOS 4.0 and above).
Also included in the deals are LG’s StanbyME and StanbyME Go devices.
It’s important to note that offers will change weekly, and each promotion is only redeemable during its specific week.
These are the streaming deals offered:
Apple TV+
Apple TV+ is offering LG TV owners a three-month free trial for new and qualified returning subscribers. Apple TV+ features original content, including critically acclaimed series like Ted Lasso and Silo, Slow Horses and more.
Apple’s streaming service normally costs £8.99 per month in the UK.
The offer expires on November 17, 2024. After the trial period, the plan will automatically renew at the standard monthly price unless cancelled (Tip: once you sign up for the trial, you can cancel right away and keep the three free months, if you don’t want to eventually get charged).
Users will need an Apple ID with a payment method on file to redeem this offer.
Also note that this offer is for “new and qualified returning” Apple TV subscribers, so you can grab it even if you had an Apple TV+ subscription – or free trial – in the past (though it will likely not add months to your subscription if you currently have an active subscription or trial).
Apple Music
In addition to Apple TV+, LG is providing customers with a three-month free trial of Apple Music.
The standard price for Apple Music in the UK is £10.99 per month for individuals (note that Apple Music is offering a free 3-month trial to EVERYONE in the UK at the moment, regardless of which TV they own – but for a limited time).
Apple Music offers over 100 million songs, more than 30,000 curated playlists, and features like Apple Music Sing and time-synced lyrics.
This offer expires on April 30, 2025. As with Apple TV+, the service will auto-renew at the standard rate after the trial unless cancelled.
Paramount+
Paramount+ is offering new and returning subscribers a 50% discount on an annual subscription.
The standard annual plan typically costs £69.90 in the UK, so this offer would reduce it to approximately £34.95 for the first year.
The service provides access to a wide range of content, including original series like Tulsa King and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as well as a library of films and TV shows.
After the first year, the subscription auto-renews at the then-regular annual price unless cancelled.
MUBI
MUBI, a global streaming service focusing on arthouse and international cinema, is offering LG TV owners 70% off for six months.
The regular UK price for MUBI is £10.99 per month or £95.88 annually.
With this discount, users could potentially save over £45 on a six-month subscription.
The offer ends on October 6, 2024 and is valid only for new MUBI subscribers. After the discounted period, the subscription will automatically renew at the standard rate unless cancelled.
DAZN
For sports enthusiasts, DAZN is offering two separate promotions:
In the first week of LG’s promotion period, new customers can get 25% off an NFL Game Pass Season Pro subscription. In the second week, they’re offering an NFL Weekly Pro subscription for £0.99.
DAZN’s regular pricing for these services varies, but the NFL Game Pass Season Pro typically starts at £15.99/month in the UK.
The first offer ends on September 22, 2024, while the second ends on September 29, 2024.
Both offers are valid for new subscribers only, and the Season Pro subscription will automatically renew on August 1, 2025 unless cancelled.
Crunchyroll
Anime streaming service Crunchyroll is offering a 30-day free trial.
Crunchyroll boasts over 25,000 hours of anime content. The standard Crunchyroll “Fan” plan in the UK typically costs £6.50 per month (Roku owners can currently get a 2-month free trial).
This offer ends on October 13, 2024 and is valid only for new subscribers. After the trial period, the plan will renew at the standard monthly rate unless cancelled.
Amazon’s Prime Video
As part of the promotion, LG TV owners will be getting 50% off rent or buy for select titles (films and TV shows) that you can get on Amazon’s Prime Video store.
Rakuten TV
Rakuten TV is offering a 20% discount voucher as part of LG’s promotion. This voucher can be used to rent one 4K (UHD) movie from a predetermined selection available on LG TVs.
The offer is valid until September 29, 2024, and is limited to the first 10,000 users who redeem a voucher across 20 European markets, including the UK.
Each user is eligible for one voucher, which can only be used once and has no cash alternative.
To redeem the offer, users should:
1. Access the Rakuten TV app via their LG TV
2. Select a movie to rent
3. Click on “Redeem voucher” and enter the provided code
4. Log in or register if not already a Rakuten TV user
5. Confirm the transaction
Once redeemed, users have 30 days to start watching the film and 48 hours from the first play to finish it. The rented title will be available in the “My Library” section during this period.
Baby Shark World
The Pinkfong Company is offering one month of free access to Baby Shark World for Kids. This service provides a vast library of songs and stories designed to engage children in stimulating learning experiences.
The offer is available for new subscribers and ends on October 14, 2024. After the free month, the subscription will renew at the standard rate for your region unless cancelled.
Blacknut Cloud Gaming
Blacknut is offering a 30-minute free play session for any of their 500+ premium games, along with a special £1 first-month subscription offer for new subscribers.
The regular UK price for Blacknut is £12.99 per month.
This offer ends on October 13, 2024 and is only available on 2021-2024 LG Smart TV models. It’s valid only for new Blacknut subscribers and can be cancelled at any time.
