200 movies, including many Hollywood blockbusters, Best Picture Academy Award-nominated films and upcoming new releases, will be coming to Sky and NOW TV, thanks to a new deal that was announced this week.

Sky and Entertainment One (eOne), Hasbro’s entertainment studio, have announced a long-term partnership that will bring Sky (and NOW TV) customers hundreds of hours of blockbuster movies.

eOne is one of the leading independent film distributors in the UK and is behind many of the highest-grossing independent films ever released in the market.

They have generated over £1.13 billion at the UK and Irish box office and released an impressive and diverse slate of films across the past twelve years, achieving twenty box office number 1 films and 11 Best Picture Academy Awards nominations and 4 Best Picture wins.

The deal covers both eOne’s existing library and new releases in development.

Movies from eOne’s content library include the Twilight and Divergent franchises, Young Victoria, Dallas Buyers Club, Looper, Stan & Ollie, The Girl on the Train, The BFG, 12 Years a Slave, The Kings Speech and the recent Sam Mendes’ WW1 epic 1917.

According to Sky, some of the titles will start showing up this December, while others will take longer.

A  number of new releases will also be available exclusively to Sky and NOW TV customers including the upcoming highly anticipated holiday rom-com Happiest Season starring Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Dan Levy, Victor Garber and Mary Steenburgen, which bypassed a UK theatrical release due to the pandemic.

In addition, starting from summer 2021, Sky will bring eOne’s first-run feature films including the animated kids’ title Two by Two: Overboard! which debuted in October at the top of the U.K./Ireland box office.

The movies will be available at no extra cost to Sky and NOW TV Sky Cinema subscribers.
